Oh my! It's been awhile since my last post (and first, but who's counting?).
When we last left off, ken and I were getting ready to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We had a blast!
We've taken several cruises, and each time we would say to each other - on our 25th, we're taking an Alaskan cruise. So we sit down to plan it, trying to decide which one, etc. I looked at Ken and said, "You know, they could just prop us up on one of these when we're old and not able to do much. Let's do something adventurous! Especially while we still can. Needless to say, it didn't take much to persuade him - he was onboard immediately. Then we were faced with a new dilemma - where? Ecuador has always been in the back of our minds. We've read about this country being an excellent choice for those living abroad, especially during retirement. Seemed like a great idea to check it out while enjoying our anniversary.
We booked through Gate One, and this tour company did an excellent job. Our tour guide, Isabella, was wonderful and the sites and experiences chosen were awesome. We had a great group, except for one fellow traveler, but that's another story for another day. Here are some of the highlights from our trip:
